The Vehicular Experiment

Starting out. That is always the roughest part for me. I always second guess my actions and wonder if I am doing the right things.

I do hereby give myself permission to fail.

There, that feels better. I am now freed from the idea that everything I do has to be perfect. It is ok to try different things and learn from the mistakes.

It seems simple enough, right. Giving yourself permission to fail. I think that for a lot of people that fear holds them back. I know it holds me back. I have more than a few projects that I have started then abandoned because I want it to be perfect. I want it to work.

The funny thing is, I am guaranteeing that they will fail because of my fear that they will fail. I think that if I give myself the chance, this endeavor make be successful. At the very least it will be a learning experience.

So, as I explained previously in the first post of this site, I have in my possession a collection of low quality articles. They revolve around things automotive and also include RV, motorcycles and watercraft. I paid $5.00 for these articles on Fiverr.com.

If you don’t know fiverr.com, it is a site that is a marketplace for goods and services that cost $5.00. There are some interesting purchases that can be made. I am sure during the course of this experiment, I will have more dealings with the people on that site.

I then needed a place to post these article. I registered vehicular.us from GoDaddy for the princely sum of $3.99 for a total investment of $8.99.

The grand idea was to see if I could make $9.00 or more using these tools. I have to say that I was very surprised at how quickly that happened. I have been keeping track of some stats. I don’t know yet which will be useful. But here is an accounting so far on the number of posts, the Adsense revenue and the pageviews:

Not bad. So now that I have made back the $8.99, I wonder how far will this go?

This is not, one of those sites that says “I made $5,000 in one month and so can you!” I wish it were one of those sites but I am just a guy. I have a grasp of the English language, I can write my thoughts somewhat intelligently. I have a better than average working knowledge of the interent. I know how to use google to answer the questions I may have.

This is a site that will chronicle this journey. The main ideas that I am finding that are important are these, in no particular order:

At this point, all I can offer them is the knowledge. I don’t consider these a money making scheme, in fact I would have to consider it a “make little money slow” at this point. That is OK. It is becoming winter where I live and being inside on the computer exercising my brain is not a bad thing. I could be watching TV!
